Counselors and advocates provide crisis intervention, support, information and referrals to community resources.
Safe shelter, food, clothing and case management are available for adults and their children. The address of the shelters are confidential as are the names of residents that occupy them.
Advocates assist with obtaining protection orders, offer support at court hearings and provide referrals to legal resources in the community.
The Latimer House provides individual counseling to persons ages 12 & up and group sessions to adults, teens, and children of all ages, for issues such as, but not limited to:
A sliding fee scale is available for services. Some counseling is free of charge to individuals who qualify. Call 241-0324 for an appointment.
Safehouse offers age-appropriate individual and group activities for children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence. Parenting support is also available.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners are available to those who wish to report sexual assaults to law enforcement. The victim is examined in a private, comfortable atmosphere by a nurse, providing support and assistance throughout the step-by-step process.
Help adults, teens, and children understand the dynamics of healthy versus abusive relationships, develop self-esteem, gain a personal support system, enhance communication skills, develop goal setting, and crisis management skills.
Latimer House provides a viable housing alternative to domestic violence and sexual assault victims who have received emergency shelter services. Hilltop has dedicated fully furnished apartments to survivors and their children who need housing beyond the emergency shelter 30-day average stay period. After leaving the shelter, Latimer House clients stay up to one year in the transitional housing program. Latimer House transitional housing program strives to change the circumstances of clients by providing a low-income or free of charge longer-term housing options with an end result of self-sufficiency.
Parenting is tough, and kids don't come with instruction manuals. That's why Hilltop in partnership with the How are the Children? initiative have created a 24/7 Parent Help Line. Whether you have toddlers or teens, a biological or blended family, the Parent Help Line is there for you. Questions range from teething and potty training, to homework and curfews.
