Domestic violence is any act or threatened act of harm that is used to maintain power and control over another person with whom an intimate relationship is shared regardless of their legal status. Domestic violence can include physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and sexual abuse. Although men can be victims of domestic violence, the vast majority (over 85%) of victims are women.
Domestic violence and sexual abuse affects nearly one out of every three females in America. That's why it is imperative we provide free support and services for victims in Montrose, Delta and Ouray counties. Through intervention assistance, advocacy, counseling, housing and education, Tri-County Resources' mission is to empower and educate victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in a safe environment.
If you are a victim of domestic violence or know someone who may be, please act now, but do so carefully. Start by calling one of the 24-Hour Crisis Lines listed below and trained professionals will assist you in the most appropriate and safest way possible.
