Our Mission

The purpose of the Children's Services team, of which Family First is a part, is to share our compassion, knowledge, and resources to strengthen all families.

The Family First program provides encouragement, guidance and opportunities to help you succeed! A trained home visitor will provide you with information and support as your baby grows. You will be shown fun activities to do with your baby and receive informative handouts on topics for making a great parent growing a "fantastic" kid! This program focuses on the importance of the relationship between you and your baby.

Young Moms

Build on your strengths, and those of your new family. In weekly groups you will learn about child development, options in child discipline, birth control, pregnancy prevention, self-sufficiency skills, problem solving, budgeting, communication skills, stress management, self-esteem, relationships, dating and marriage, & legal issues. We can also help you prepare for the future with help getting a GED, vocational training, completing your education & seeking employment.

Young Dads

Guys helping guys. We can help you with understanding parenting challenges, sharing ideas and information, getting together at informal weekly groups, helping each other become better fathers & gaining confidence through accomplishments. We provide a Certificate of Completion after twelve sessions. We discuss tough issues which directly affect young dads such as child support, self control, managing anger and stress, childcare for fathers, budgeting, managing money, practical coping tools and resources, healthy parenting styles and what works for you. We also have a training camp for new dads. This three-hour no-charge workshop covers not only baby care and fatherhood, but also focuses on family issues and caring for new moms. New dads learn from veterans how to properly perform skills of childcare like feeding, changing, crying baby, holding baby ... and more.
