Hilltop is proud to announce its merger with Senior Daybreak, an adult day care program that has been serving the Grand Valley since 1993.

What is Senior Daybreak?

Senior Daybreak is an adult day care program that provides a safe and stimulating environment for seniors who are dealing with memory loss and confusion. Most participants have a form of dementia ranging from minor forgetfulness to Alzheimer’s disease or some other dementia-causing condition. Some participants are mentally sharp but medically fragile and just need and enjoy the benefit of socialization. Senior Daybreak is filled with laughter, music, conversation, activities, affection, and most importantly… acceptance.

With their loved ones at Senior Daybreak, caregivers and families are able to take a much needed break so they can relax and rejuvenate. This often delays or prevents placement of their loved one in a care facility.

Once enrolled in the program, participants can attend on a set weekly schedule or on an occasional basis. Participants can also attend for the whole day or just a portion of the day.

What Happens at Senior Daybreak?

The caring staff at Senior Daybreak provide a wide variety of activities that are intended to stimulate, entertain, exercise and pamper the participants. There are group and one-on-one activities with the goal to meet each individual’s needs and level of ability.

What services are included?

• Secure Environment protects those likely to wander or get lost
• Nutritious noon meal, snacks, and ongoing beverages
• Weekly Wellness Checks by a Licensed Nurse
• Medication Administration
• Personalized Care Plans
• Incontinence Care
• Assistance with Transferring
  (for those less mobile or wheelchair bound - participant must be able to bare weight)
• Caregiver Support Group
• 1:6 ratio of staff to participants supplemented by volunteers
• Staff is trained to deal with behaviors typical of dementia
