Choices staff includes one master's level Director, who also serves as a counselor/case manager, two master's level licensed teachers, five licensed teachers, one teacher assistant, and a vocational counselor. In order to provide individualized instruction, a 12:1 student/teacher ratio is maintained. Because social, emotional, and economic issues often undermine a youth's ability to maintain an appropriate academic level, youth and families meet regularly with the counselor/case manager and teachers.

Students are referred to Choices by partner agencies including: Mesa County Valley School District #51, Mesa County Department of Human Services, Colorado West Mental Health, Western Region Alternative to Placement, Division of Youth Corrections, Department of Corrections, State Probation Department, District Attorney's Office, Mesa County Minority Over-representation Committee, and Mesa County Partners. Choices realizes that community collaboration is vital to program success and addressing the issue of school dropout. Program outreach includes presentations, flyers, posters, and information throughout Mesa County.
