Hilltop's Experiential Learning Project (HELP) Course, located outside the town of Mesa, consists of two distinct facilities. The most talked about and awe-inspiring is the High Ropes Course. Less visible and dramatic, yet more useful and applicable for organizations and teams, is our Low Challenge Course (some of which is portable and can be utilized at other sites.) To understand the application and benefits of high and low challenge activities, an inventory of each facility their components and explanation of their use follows.

Atmosphere is everything when it comes to creating learning in the experiential model of challenge initiatives. Almost any issue can be addressed through challenge initiatives, and any age group can benefit from these activities. Although no significant events have taken place, outdoor activities always possess risks. Hilltop staff is trained in a minimum of First Aid/CPR, while the course director maintains Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification.

Beyond the physical safety training, Hilltop staff also receives yearly training in effective facilitation to ensure the emotional safety of the participants as well. All in all, Hilltop's course and staff present and maintain a professional program designed to enrich client's life experience and self-knowledge. All programming is designed to meet the specific needs of the client, group and agency involved. Therefore, custom application and delivery is to be expected.
